2010 ACGA Member Scholarship instructions and translation materials are available below.
Complete all exercises for your chosen level and return to Cam MacRae at cam.macrae@comcast.net by March 15, 2010.
Beginner Level
Here are your competition materials.
Beginning level competitors have three exercises to complete. You have two translations: English to Gaelic and Gaelic to English. You also have a speaking exercise.
1. Gaelic to English - Beginner 2010
Download the passage above and translate it into comfortable English.
2. English to Gaelic - Beginner - 2010
Download the passage above and translate it into Gaelic. Use accent marks where needed. If you do not know how to make accent marks on your computer, you may use a slash after each vowel that should have an accent. For instance, mòr OR mo\r.
3. Speaking Exercise
Read number 1 above, in Gaelic, and record it as an mp3 file. If you cannot record it as an mp3 file, arrange with Cam MacRae to submit it on a cassette tape.
Intermediate Level
